Post-War Rolls-Royce & Bentley Models (1945-1959)

This catalogue covers parts for the Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith, Silver Dawn, Bentley Mk VI, and R Type, including long-wheelbase and coachbuilt variants.

After World War II, production resumed with the Bentley Mk VI in 1946, followed by the Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith in 1947 and the Silver Dawn in 1948. These models were the first to feature factory-built all-steel bodies. Initially powered by a 4.257-litre straight-six engine, both the Bentley and Rolls-Royce models received an upgrade to a 4.566-litre engine in 1951. The Bentley R Type, introduced in 1952, offered increased luggage capacity compared to the Mk VI. The high-performance R Type Continental (1952-1955) became a coveted model, with most bodies built by H.J. Mulliner.

The Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith, in production until 1958, was offered in both standard and long-wheelbase variants, typically used as limousines. Some final versions of the R Type and Silver Wraith received a 4.887-litre engine. These post-war models are significant for their engineering advancements and the transition to modern manufacturing techniques, such as the use of all-steel bodies. This period set the stage for the development of future luxury vehicles.
