Fitting Your Prestige Parts Shock Absorber - Part Numbers RH12437 and UR71744

Prestige Parts® Shock Absorbers must be fitted with the dust cover up as per the direction arrow on the body of the shock absorber. While it is possible to fit a rear shock absorber with the dust cover downward it will not operate.

Before fitting the shock absorber, turn it the right way up (dust cover to the top), and operate it a few times by hand to prime the damper, taking care not to over-compress so that the lip on the operating shaft does not pass into the seal in the shock absorber body. If you over-compress the shock absorber it will not return and oil will leak past the seal, invalidating the warranty.
